What is Quantitative Interpretation?

Quantitative Interpretation involves the transformation of seismic attributes (primarily, but not exclusively, amplitudes) into physical quantities that can be related to rock properties.

nQuantitative Interpretation seeks to make specific predictions about quantities such as lithology, pore fill, reservoir quality, and distribution.

What Is Rock physics

•Rock physics studies the relationship between physical and elastic properties of rocks and is the basis of quantitative seismic interpretation.(Alessandro 2017)

•The Rock Physicist seeks to establish relations between these material properties and the observed seismic response, and to develop a predictive theory so that these properties may be detected seismically. (Jan Dewar2001 )

•Seismic Petrophysics is a term used to describe the conversion of seismic data into meaningful petrophysical or reservoir description information, such as porosity, lithology, or fluid content of the reservoir

example between envelop attributes and porosity to identify best seismic attributes can use for prediction for north sea f3 ( well 03-4)

•Find good relation between impedance logs (calculated from sonic and density logs ) with other desirable properties , well logs must converted to time and filtered.

•Choice best inversion algorithm suitable for your target.

•Deep understanding of reservoir properties and connect Petrophysics with seismic modules

•Facility connect seismic inversion result with reservoir engineering .

•Collect logs and QC log intervals and core analysis , important to detect Kdry, Kmatrix,μ Dry,… ,

•Log preconditioning including smoothing or Despikes for sonic and density log, edit invasion effect.
